Privacy Policy
The short version: Barowise has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and sells no data. Your location is used for one thing — fetching the pressure forecast for where you are.
Location
If you grant location permission, your device's coordinates are sent to a weather data provider (Apple Weather via Apple's WeatherKit, or Open-Meteo) solely to retrieve the barometric pressure forecast for your area. Coordinates are not stored on any server we operate — we don't operate any servers. You can also skip location entirely and search for a city by name instead.
What stays on your device
Your settings (sensitivity, units, saved locations, notification preference, subscription status) are stored locally on your device only. They never leave it.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through your Apple Account. We never see your payment details. Subscription entitlement is verified on-device through Apple's StoreKit.
Notifications
Evening-before alerts are generated locally on your device from the forecast data it already has. No push-notification server is involved.
What we don't do
- No user accounts, no sign-in
- No advertising, no ad trackers
- No analytics SDKs
- No selling, sharing, or renting of any data — there is nothing to sell
Third parties
Weather data providers (Apple Weather / Open-Meteo) receive the coordinates needed to answer a forecast request, as described above. Their handling of requests is governed by their own policies. No other third party receives anything.
Children
Barowise is a general-audience weather utility and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
